Description

All of those phuckin' creatures from Metroid 2 that tried to make your life a true nightmare. Some of these have extra animation frames
Sorry for not posting more regular (read: p0rn) art, I thought of tossing something in here for now...

YUMEE-The Yumee is a distant relative of the Yumbo. It is another nest dwelling creature that lives deep in SR388. It has a sharp, pointed mouth, which is designed to put less resistance on the creature during flight. The Yumees body is basically a design that lets it fly at extremely high speeds with as little wind resistance as possible. The creatures’ snout is long and pointed and the rest of its body is flat. Equipped with a hard outer shell and sunken eyes into the skull the Yumee is the greatest, fastest, and most maneuverable flyer in SR388.
PINCERFLY-The Pincerfly lives close to the surface of SR388. It usually flies close to the top of the large caves so it can easily catch a Mumbo or a Pemaw that gets too close. It will grab its prey item with the sharp pincers on its legs and claps on. It will then eat the struggling creature from the small mouth on the Pincerflys underbelly. The Pincerfly is near the bottom of the food chain, but high up enough to grow rapidly if uncontrolled. Drivels are the main predator of the Pincerfly and keep them in check. The Gullugg is also a Pincerfly eater and they often get into violent battles with each other. The shell of the Pincerfly is weak and they often lose these battles.
AUTOAD-The Chozo that colonized SR388 primarily designed Autoads to serve as labor droids to construct and maintain Chozo settlements and structures and to expand the cavern system for future Chozo dwellings.
For this task Autoads were equipped with various tools and equipment and designed with maneuverability in mind. However due to the delicacy of some of the tools a thruster (or anti gravity system) could not be installed, instead the Autoad is equipped with powerful legs.As they were designed for labor, Autoads lack features for conflict, not even as back up or improvised combat units, so no type of weapon system was installed in the unit. Unfortunate rogue Autoads seem to have overcome the problem of the lack of weaponry pretty well, making them dangerous to any living thing around them as Autoads try to smash themselves into possible targets.
GULLUG-Gulluggs are large aerial rodents that roost in the upper fissures of large cave passages. They have evolved large eyes to help them better navigate the treacherous terrain in such low lighting conditions. They fly almost completely upside down, with legs up in the air and head downwards. This is an evolutionary oddity, as no other creature on SR388 has been known to do this. It is thought this behavior has come about do to the Gullugg's constant state of perching upside down. It's mouth is a long tube intertwined with many syphoning organs in which it uses to pierce it's prey and lap up any nutrients it can find.
FLITT-The Flitt is a very strange creature that lives deep in the caverns of SR388. It can stand immobile hovering over one area by unknown means. The creatures’ hard shell is nearly like rocks so it has very few predators. The creature can also carry a considerable amount of weight on its body but some are weaker and teleport to a different area of the planet when they can't support the weight.
AUTOM-Designed for guard, the Autom is equipped with a powerful small anti gravity drive that allows it to hover a few meters from any surface. It also makes the Autom very fast as unlike a conventional thruster package, an anti gravity field only has to be projected in which direction a droid or vehicle equipped with an anti gravity projector wants to go. Like many of their other machines, an active number of Automs were left online. But as they were programmed to guard a certain part of the underground Chozo settlements they usually form no threat for any scouting party that explores SR388. As its armor was designed to protect it from its own flamethrower the Autom can resist both energy fire as concussion missile impacts, making it a very creation of the mysterious Chozo peoples.
PEMAW-The Pemaw like the Glowfly is most likely a creature (in this case a Skree) brought from Zebes to SR388 by the Chozo and evolved over time. The Pemaw has adapted a thicker skin so they can withstand lava and don't spontaneously combust on impact into the ground. The Pemaw builds a nest in solid rock where hundreds of them live. The Pemaw digs a nest by using claws on the front of its body when it is ready to reproduce. The Pemaw then lays eggs in the crevice and protects them from predators. This creature is a lot thinner then a Skree so it is more cloaked in the terrain.
AUTRACK-The Chozo designs the Autrack as a defense droid that operates inside corridors and caverns and possesses programming that allows it to take advantage of its surroundings. A typical Autrack position would be most likely behind a small wall or rock that would allow it to fire from that point at the aggressor. As the Autrack's main plasma cannon is installed on an extensible neck, its main body can stay behind a protective barrier or structure while it cannon moves over it for a few seconds and fires on the attacker before retracting back into its body. Its plasma cannon its quite powerful and has a long range. Together with its ability to make use of its environment, Autrack are a very dangerous force to engage, thus giving its creators the peace of mind to travel undisturbed. Though powerful offensively, its armor is not capable of protecting it from energy or kinetic weaponry and can easily damage or destroy its outer shell. When severe damage is dealt to it's central CPU (central processing unit), failure of the unit is eminent.
YUMBO-The Yumbo is a small, predatory pack hunter. Usually found in swarms of up to 30 members, Yumbo collectives scour the lower levels of SR388 in search of food. They normally feed of small, immobile prey but have been known to attack larger animals if the opportunity arises. The Yumbo anatomy consists of four legs, odd for a creature in it's phylum. It has a cluster of 3 eyes which sit in a echelon pattern atop its outer carapace. It's head ends in a long proboscis like snout, lined with small teeth which it uses for both attack and defensive purposes. When threatened, Yumbo hives instinctively dart downwards, noses aimed straight at their targets. Yumbos are attracted to bright light, and have been known to dive head first into exposed lava tubes drawn by both their heat and light.
HORNOAD-Hornaods are in many of their environments Beta predators of their ecology. After careful study of their anatomies, the Hornoad is a formidable predator indeed. It's body is covered in a rough, warty skin. This skin is thought to be used to prevent moisture loss in the hot environments in which it dwells. On it's back, the warts protrude to form spines which are believed to be a defense mechanism. Seeing as the Hornoad has no neck, it's backside is vulnerable to attack, making the spines and excellent deterrent. It's powerful legs allow the creature massive bursts of speed, as well as a jumping capability of over 6m. It's massive mouth is lined with rows of small, needle like teeth. Through all these natural adaptations, the Hornoad's vision is not the sharpest. This tends it to bump into things very regularly, though it's skin is so tough it barely notices. Hornoads lay eggs in hardened sacs on the undersides of rock walls.
TSUMURI-This snail-like creature has very sticky legs and will creep along the walls and ceilings of the caverns. It has the same artificial intelligence as a Zoomer.
GAWRON-This creature has extremely sharp outer teeth. It uses these teeth to find soft soil and make a large nest underground all by digging. Afterwards other Gawron come to live in the ready built nests to save space and find a mate. They also use the teeth for ripping apart food. Inside the hive the Gawrons lay dormant until something approaches above then they leave the nest to attack.
SENJOO-The Senjoo is another strange creature found on SR388. It is very large and another deadly creature. The Senjoo has evolved a single eye, which can easily penetrate the darkness of SR388. The creature has also evolved an extremely hard outer carapace that can protect it from most creatures' even Beam fire. It has two large wings, which it uses to be able to fly close to walls and ceilings in SR388 where its prey usually resides. It also has evolved spikes for self-defense on the top of its body.
SHIRK-The Shirk was originally designed as a mining drone. Fitted with spikes and a powerful thruster package, its purpose was to smash strong rocks and expand the cavern system of SR388 for future Chozo habitations. It did this by impacting with full force on an obstacle and continued until the obstacle was smashed into smaller pieces that could be removed by Autoads and Proboscum units. For this purpose the Shirk is fitted with very strong impact resistant armour that protects the drone’s powerplant, computer core, and thruster impacts from rubble that might be released when the Shirk is working.
GUNZOO-The Gunzoo itself is a powerful automated weapons platform, equipped with a sophisticated droid AI and a power anti gravity drive system, which gives it excellent mobility. It is equipped with various weapon systems such as plasma cannons and flamethrowers. Although its armor is not strong as that of the Autom, the Gunzoo is one of the more powerful left over droids on SR388.
WALLFIRE-As the Chozo wanted their Wallfire droids to be undetectable when not active their engineers artistically gave them the appearance of a Chozo stone head which are usually placed in Chozo settlements to honor the ancestors and various castes of the Chozo society. Once activated, the Wallfire scans for any non Chozo life form that enters its reach after which it automatically locks on and fires the small plasma burst cannon it is equipped with on its target. Chozo engineers equipped the wallfire droid with energy dispersion armor for defense, but concentrated fire of an energy or kinetic weapon such as concussion missiles should be able to pierce the armor and damage or destroy the armor.
GLOWFLY-The Glowfly is creature specially a creature that uses small bursts of light and heat to confuse and befuddle it's prey and predators alike. It protects itself from the harms of it's environment by a series of loosely inter-connected plates that surround its body. The only exposed areas seems to be large gas bladders on either side of the creature. It is these bladders which it uses to store methane gas, which it expels in brilliant bursts of light and heat to stun prey. The Glowfly has a small cluster of eyes on the top its head. These eyes are very weak in comparison to most creatures of this species family, for which the Glowfly compensates with an acute sense of smell.
CHUTE LEECH-Choots are timid and stupid creatures. When startled they leap into the air and spread membranous "wings", then settle back down in a back and forth motion, sort of like a falling leaf. They will not avoid enemies, and will do nothing else active until they land. For protection from predators, they are covered in a strong acid. Choots are asexual, reproducing by releasing tiny eggs equipped with parachutes. The eggs float to the ground a ways from the parent. The eggs are unprotected and depend on sheer numbers and camouflage for survival.
MUMBO-The Mumbo is a small creature that lives within deep lava tube canyons in SR388's interior. Using it's unique flattened body structure, it is able to jam itself into the smallest of cracks and fissures. It has a pair of small wings which in reality are not used for flight at all. Using it's small, powerful legs, the Mumbo jumps thru the air, using its small wings as a sort of gliding apparatus. It's flattened shape also helps aid in the air keeping it afloat.
SEPTOGG-The Septogg is a distant relative of the Tripper and much more similar to a Flitt. It is like a living platform that uses symbioticchemoautotrophic bacteria to feed itself. The Septogg has a natural anti-gravity device to hover in a single place. The main purpose of these creatures existence is unknown but the Chozo may engineer them as platforms. They also produce Hydrocarbons to increase altitude if a heavy creature such as a Ramulken causes them to fall. These creatures have eyes but they are basically useless for two reasons. The first because the Septogg can't move on its on and the second being the underdeveloped eyes can barely see in the darkness of SR388. This creature may have a small brain but it is doubtful.
NEEDLER-The Needler is a very strange and distant relative of the Moheek. The Needler is basically a Sphere covered in sharp needles. It has also evolved an adhesive to keep the sphere on a rock or wall surface. It has evolved huge needles to cover its body mostly protecting the otherwise soft creature from predators. With no lungs the creature breathes through some sort of gill on the outside of the Needlers body. It sucks in air to inflate itself for defense or for the necessary breathing.
TPO-The droid designated Terminal Portable Operator (TPO) filled the same position as courier and message drones do in Galactic Federation civilizations, carrying messages and other information and is part of the Chozo’s ancient data network. When the Chozo were forced to leave SR388, several hundreds of these drones were left behind, but as most of the data network was either shut down or damaged these drones no longer had any instructions left to follow and now aimlessly roam the corridors of their master’s settlements. Although not really designed for tactical engagements, the Chozo had equipped their small message droids with an electrostatic field generators in case they would have to defend the Chozo people. The electrostatic generator gives the TPO the ability to attack opponents with limited electrical attacks without damaging its own internal system which could have happened if the TPO simply had an electrically charged covering instead of an independent attack field.
DRIVEL-The Drivel is a gigantic creature that lives in the dark caverns of SR388. This creature is an apex predator feeding on most organisms that enter the Drivels territory. All creatures below 200 pounds are eligible prey for the Drivel. This creature has evolved very large wings with razor sharp talons to support its massive body and flight and to grab and hold onto prey. The Drivel is a nocturnal animal but it usually spends 18 hours awake a day because it is unable to distinguish day from night in the darkness of SR388. Drivels are believed to live alone.
PROBOSCUM-The Proboscum served as a labour droid for the ancient Chozo of SR388. Designed to transport heavy loads such as stones and components, the unit is fitted with with strong but nimble legs which the unit uses to scale walls.Proboscum could also be used as emergency transport platforms in case no other form of transport was available to cross walls or descent crevices. The unit is more than capable to carry the weight of an average hominid such as the Chozo.
MOHEEK-The Moheek is a strange and amphibious creature. Unlike most fish like creatures the Moheek spends time in Lava. It has very thick skin, which it uses to withstand the heat. The Moheek has somehow evolved a strange adhesive that the creature excretes from its underbelly to make itself stick to the smooth rocks of SR388s caverns. The Moheeks have slightly better vision than other creatures so they tend to live closer to the Planets surface to take advantage of the extra light. The Moheek has evolved with no legs and relies only on the adhesive for transportation.
RAMULKEN-The Gravitts much stronger relative is the Ramulken. Instead of merely hiding underground the Ramulken stays high above the ground on cliff ledges. This creature has more spikes and tentacles. The tentacles have grown thicker and stronger. If all three are used in unison the creature can jump a considerable height and length. These tentacles are the only way the creature can move while supporting its massive head. It kept the single eye because two would make it hard to spot prey. The giant eye is always watching where the creature will jump so confusion is easily avoided.
GRAVITT-The Gravitt is the weaker relative to the Ramulken. The creature has only one eye because it really finds eyesight useless. When it finds soft, sandy soil the Gravitt will dig into it with its claws. After the digging process the Gravitt will simply lie in the hole with the large spike on its head protruding. This is the easiest way to protect the Gravitts only vulnerable point its soft underbelly. Most predators such as the Alpha and Gamma Metroids can't come after the Gravitt underground and the spiked outer layer is nearly impenetrable.
SKREEK-The Skreek is another inhabitant of SR388. It has a gigantic beak and head but strangely small wings. It is unknown how such a large creature can stay airborne using such small wings. It also has very large eyes at the back of its beak so it can see incoming enemies or prey. Like most creatures on SR388 they live in hives at either the top of a room or below ground. Once a Skreek digs out a hive others vacate the area so they won't have to construct their own. Its large beak allows prey to be swallowed whole.
BLOB THROWER-Pleastus Myxoinoa Minor or "Blob Throwers", as they were first recorded as by initial survey teams, are a very unique blend of chlorotomic adaptation.
A Blob Thrower's body consists of a well-rooted base from which it uses to anchor its mass into the surrounding terrain. Extending from the rootstalk are dozens of tendrils, each containing hundreds of nerve bundles. These nerve bundles serve as the creatures main sensory system and are extremely sensitive to very slight movement and vibrations. The main base of the Blob Thrower's body is a prehensile spongy stalk that allows the Blob Thrower to stretch to more than 3 times its retracted height. The stalk itself is dotted with small bristles and spines that protect predators from making a meal out if it. At the very top of the stalk, a small tuber like opening can be found which represents the creature's maw. Although very primitive in nature, this mouth is lined with primary and a smaller secondary row of rudimentary teeth. Surround the Blob Thrower's maw are four petal like appendages. It is believed that these "petals" emit a pheromone to attract smaller creatures towards its mouth.
MEBOID-Meboids are creatures that originally spawned from smaller, amoebic creatures. Very similar to the Flitt, Meboids themselves are larger versions of the microscopic brethren. Acting in much the same manner as their original predecessors, Meboids have a small, gelatinous membrane which protects it's inner organ structure. Meboids have a very primitive mind which seems only focuses upon feeding. So violent is this urge that Meboids have been known to eat other Meboids that are unfortunate to be mistaken for prey. The Meboid reproduces by fission, splitting itself when it has absorbed enough mass to divide. This division creates and exact replica of the parent creature. It is thought that All Meboids in the wild are originally spawned from just four or five different individuals.
SEEROOK-The Seerook is a creature living in the dark caverns of SR388. It is a small relative of the Mumbo. The Seerook has larger jaws and wings than the Mumbo so it is slightly more advanced. They fly alone in a single area and wait for prey to pass by. Much like a Ripper the Seerook has a highly underdeveloped brain so it has nearly no control over where it is moving. The small wings fluttering are jointed so they can move to the creatures’ mouth if prey lands on top of it.
SKORP-The Skorp is a strange burrowing creature that lives in rocks deep in SR388. Firstly a Skorp digs through rocks with the two buzz saw-like appendages on the front of its body. Than after it fully digs through the rocks using its barbed body to move through the created tunnel it waits there. It has small spikes on its body that push against the rock and allows the Skorp to move up to 27.8 MPH. When a Skorp senses a creature coming near its rock nest the Skorp springs its sharp appendages out and tries to slash and kill the opposition. This usually kills the target with severe wounds to the target. Even if the prey lands on the spikes on top of the Skorp they will usually be impaled.
MOTO-The Moto is similar to the earth rhinoceros. The creature has three horns, little intelligence, and a short temper. The Moto has developed large eyes so it can see better than most inhabitants of SR388. When a Moto sees a dim outline it will recklessly charge the creature although, its head is impenetrable. The head structure is a solid bone around the creatures face with the horns protruding from the top. It has short, stubby legs, which it uses to support its massive body. The legs can actually allow the Moto to run up to 30 MPH. The Moto feeds by attacking a opposing creature with its long horns. A creature that’s small and weak will most likely die due to the shock of the skull being rammed into it, the impaling, or massive blood loss. Regardless of how it died the Moto will scrape it off on the ground and eat it with the small mouth at the bottom of its head.
HALZYN-The Halzyn is a creature that descended from ground dwelling mollusks. It still retains the ancient shell coverings of it's ancestors, though now used in a more specialized role. Halzyns have a very thick, muscular body. It's main body mass is centered around a single eye and pair of mandibles. This eye is specialized as it can see it almost no light at all. It's main body terminates with two very strong appendages which root into the outer shell coverings. It is unknown as to the purpose of this shell configuration, but many researchers have speculated that they may be used to cover the Halzyn's blind sides from predators. It may also be possible they are used as battering ram device.
